Yet another of Topps Allen & Ginter's strong lineup of inserts, Framed Original Cards are, as the name implies, original Allen & Ginter tobacco cards. Topps purchased these original Allen & Ginter tobacco cards from the second hand market for distribution in their Allen & Ginter Products. After purchasing them, Topps placed them in the typical Allen & Ginter style card frame. The reason for doing this is two fold. First, it protects these rare and valuable trading cards from getting damaged. It also makes the Allen & Ginter

Original Buybacks easier to store and display by bringing the total dimensions of the card to the standard sports card size of 2.5" x 3.5".

Much to the disappointment of baseball card collectors, Topps discontinued the insertion of original Allen & Ginter tobacco cards in their 2009 Topps Allen & Ginter set.
